Press Play on Tape for Watch Dogs on the Commodore 64

on

Watch Dogs, especially the PC version, makes use of some of the best computer technology of its time. What if it made use of  the technology of 1989?

That’s the question MajamiHiroz asked. I have no idea why they asked it, but I like their answer, a mock version of Watch Dogs as it might have looked on the Commodore 64. The “Commie 64” version comes on a Datasette, a data-containing cassette tape Commodore 64 used, and has time-appropriate graphics.

But the gameplay ideas still manage to be compelling even with this megaton downgrade. Aiden can still find data about anyone and hack the city, he just has to do it with those squiggly, hard-to-remember icons that old computer games had.
