Two Years of Progress on Project CARS

on

Here’s a video that shows off how far Project CARS has come in the last two years. Two years can make a big difference, obviously.

The video by ADRIANF1esp is a splitscreen that shows the same car, BAC Mono, on the same track, California Highway. The difference is the view on the left is a two-year-old build and the view on the right is the newest.

The difference is impressive. It’s not that the older footage looks bad, it would for the most part be a passable last-gen racing game. It’s that the step up has been so massive to the current build’s detail, which approaches photo-real. The shadows are also much more dramatic and there’s a lot more detail in objects on the track like trees and rocks.

Project CARS will be out for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, & PC in November, and Steam OS and Wii U in 2015.
