They may be mostly named after 80s celebrities and musicians that its primary audience has never heard of, and they may have been retconned to where they’re no longer actually Bowser’s kids, but the Koopalings are joining the lineup for Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. All seven made the cut, even Morton Koopa Jr.
The characters were announced during yesterday’s Nintendo direct video press release, which also gave the game a concrete release date, May 30.
