You know, sometimes I have an odd impulse to race anything but an automobile. That’s when I search nooks and crannies for games like Chariot Wars, which has been out on Android for a while but was just released on iOS.
Chariot Wars, from Om Entertainment, is a free-to-play game that features a chariot race in honor of Emperor Hadrian in 128 AD. It’s a story-driven experience with a murder mystery and thorny Roman politics at its heart.
According to a press release from Om Entertainment, the game features:
Single player arcade racing including Championship and Time Trial modes
Exciting single player story told via a digital graphic novel
Game levels set in Ancient Greece, Egypt, Helvetia and Gaul
Day and night levels
Eight different chariot models
Male and female charioteer avatars
Multiple horse types
Real-time and turn-based multiplayer
Up to 4 players in real-time multiplayer
Record your races using Kamkord and Applifier
Upload game videos to YouTube and Facebook
Achievements and global leader board
You can get the game here. The Android version is available here.
If you don’t like Chariot Wars and want to try something a little more strategic, you can also give Qvadriga, a game with a similar theme but a different approach, a try here.
