Ever since the rumor started in San Andreas, gamers everywhere have been searching for Bigfoot in the wilds of every Grand Theft Auto game. Rockstar says the fabled Yeti was never put in San Andreas. But he was just found in GTA V, and there is video evidence you can not only track him down, but play as him.
So why did this secret take so long to find? For one thing, it was added to the game during an update, but another, it’s because the situation required to see Bigfoot in the first place is very specific. You first need to finish the game. Then it needs to be a Tuesday (in the game), the weather has to be foggy and the in-game time has to be somewhere between 5:30 and 8 in the morning.
If all these requrements are satisfied, there’s still one more: you have to have collected every peyote plant available in the game. You also have to have spared the man in the Bigfoot suit during a mission where you were hunting for him. Got all that done? Good, then you’re ready. (But you will never be truly ready.)
Go to a certain location in the Chiliad State Wilderness, and there you should find a golden peyote. Collect it, and your character will fall on the ground and begin hallucinating. In the hallucination, you’ll turn into Bigfoot (so yeah, he’s never officially part of the world, he’s just a dream, sorry).
Bigfoot is not available in the 360 and PS3 versions of GTA V, due to his being added after Rockstar reached the memory limit on those consoles. You can only find him on PS4, XBox One and PC.
