Ubisoft Announces Riders Republic For 2021

How many racers can you cram onto one track? Will we find out with Ubisoft’s new extreme sports racing game Riders Republic?

During the Ubisoft Forward 2020 showcase streamed live this afternoon, the French game publisher showed the world the first footage of Riders Republic: a game where you compete against everyone else through one of America’s national parks. How you pull it off is up to you: BMX bikes, skis, snowboards and even wingsuits are all shown in the trailer. The PvP races will include over 50 rivals! “It’s really an extreme sports fantasyland,” says Manfred Neber, designer at Ubisoft Annecy.

Tracks include such locales as Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Sequoia, Zion, Canyonlands, Mammoth Mountain, and Grand Teton National Parks. Finish first, or at least in the top few, and you’ll earn swanky new outfits and gear for your character. Maybe you can even make the leaderboards if you’re good enough. If the big races are too populated for you, there will also be a six-on-six co-op team mode.

“Riders Republic will run at 60 fps on next-gen consoles and display more than 50 players simultaneously live on screen,” says Ubisoft’s press release. “With the game’s very intuitive character and camera control combined with an innovative trick system, all players, casual and hardcore, will have the chance to experience untapped joy from the very beginning.”

Riders Republic is coming to next-gen systems like the Playstation 5 and XBox Series X, but you’ll also find it on systems you already own like the Playstation 4 and XBox One. It’s also hitting PC and Google Stadia, all on the same day: February 25, 2021.
