The Crew had a recently wrapped beta on PC, but what if you’re not a PC gamer. What if your PC stutters playing four-year-old Nancy Drew games.
In this new promotional video from Ubisoft, The Crew Creative Director Julian Gerighty says there might be some chance that console players will get to play a The Crew beta, or at least that PC players will get a second beta.
“Maybe. Still under discussion, but I’d love to see another beta, at least on PC, maybe on some of the consoles,” he says.
That obviously doesn’t sound super comitted to the idea, but at least he offers a chance.
He says the team has learned a lot from the recent beta, including the fact that players prefer to use The Crew as a sandbox to make their own driving experiences.
“We’re finding that a lot of people, as soon as they start playing the game, they finish the prologue, and then they start driving,” he said.
The players ignore missions and pop ups and just go where the road takes them, “meeting people, crewing up, and creating emergent challenges,” like racing to be the first person to Detroit, Gerighty said.
The Crew is set for release Nov. 11 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
