Take-Two CEO Guarantees Enhanced GTA V Will Exceed Your Expectations
Hey, so there hasn’t been that much news on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC ports of Grand Theft Auto V, but it looks like the hype machine might be starting back up.
Speaking in a dollars and cents driven conversation with MCV, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick says it doesn’t matter that GTA V has already sold 34 million copies on last-gen consoles. It’s still going to sell like mad on PS4 and Xbox One.
“One way to look at it is that 34m copies have been sold, but there’s 7bn people on Earth. So we have over 6.9bn people left to address.
“It’s a massive market and an amazing title. GTA is the standard bearer in the industry. How can you buy a next-gen console and not want to play GTA on it?” Zelnick said.
And of course there’s the argument for buying it again. Zelnick said that the new version of GTA V is going to be much more than an upgraded port.
“In the case of GTA V, nothing but the very best will satisfy Rockstar. They want to blow consumers away. Whatever the expectation is, they want to exceed it. When you see GTA V on next-gen, I want you to tell me whether it is or isn’t better than your expectation. I can guarantee it will be better.”
The enhanced version is set to come some time in 2014. No firm release date has been announced.
