This morning during Square-Enix’s E3 press conference, the company debuted new footage from Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause 3, and revealed the release date as well.
This time the story is that you’re trying to singlehandedly topple a brutal dictator by finding everything on a tropical island with his name on it and blowing it up…so naturally, a lot of things in the game are his and this is your short excuse to go nuts and destroy everything.
You’ve got a 400-square-mile map to play around in, a lot of weapons to do your explosive business, and of course, your trusty grappling hook. It’s back and it can do more this time: it can hook onto absolutely anything that exists in the game world, it can be used as a weapon, and you can use more than one at the same time. Rico is shown in the footage bringing down a radio tower by simply hooking it with many wires. Plus, no area will be closed off in Just Cause 3 — the entire island will be open to you from second one.
Square announced that you can get your mitts on Just Cause 3 this winter. The game launches December 1, 2015, and will be playable on Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
