You know an indie game has become a true success when it finally gets its own full-fledged physical disc release for real stores. Rocket League has now entered that sacred hall of fame. Psyonix’s vice president Jeremy Dunham broke the news during a special guest appearance on Twitch’s Colin and Greg Live Show.
The product was only recently approved for production, Dunham said, and it was much too early to set down a price or release window. But a disc is coming, and it’ll come to every platform the game is currently on: Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
So is that it or is there more? Is the point of buying it simply to have a copy that can’t be taken from you or erased? Psyonix said on Facebook there would be extra incentives to entice people into springing for the disc. “We’ll make sure the retail version is special. Stay tuned for more details!”
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
