New Forza Motorsport Announced For XBox Series X
When was the last time we heard from Microsoft’s Forza franchise? Don’t you think the reveal of a brand-new console would be the perfect time to revitalize it again? So did they.
This morning’s XBox Games Showcase revealed that Turn 10 Studios is now working on a Forza Motorsport for the XBox Series X. That’s all it’s called, with no number, even though it’s technically #8. It’s not a reboot, as far as we know. Perhaps the full title is yet to be revealed.
The last mainline game in the Forza franchise (meaning the last one to bear the full title “Forza Motorsport” was released back in 2017. The last full game officially connected to Forza was released in 2018 as Forza Horizon 4. And the last time we saw the Forza BRAND was last year, when it was slapped on an unrelated title to boost its install base.
But now it’s back, folks. And details are light, as usual for an early Forza announcement. We can tell you this much: it will render in native 4K at 60 frames a second, and utilize the Series X’s much-touted ray tracing feature. You can see it in action in the trailer below, which is entirely in-game footage.
Forza Motorsport will not be out for XBox Series X at launch. It still needs some work, evidently, and has no specific release date, but it looks nice…
