The Forza series will be getting its latest installment very soon — we’ll only have to wait a little more than a month. Forza Horizon 3 is set in Australia, and it required a bit of research.
In order to get the look of the Australian outback as accurate as possible, developer Playground Games sent a team down to the actual place to record video footage of the scenery and sky. InĀ addition not only are the modeled areas based on real places, but the sky in the game is the actual Australian sky, taken directly from their videos.
If you don’t appreciate the effort yet, then consider this: you may have heard the wildlife in the Outback is horrific and everything wants to kill you. This is true. It’s also true that there are an endless amount of spiders, some of them huge and most of them poisonous to humans. Every day when the team woke up, one of them had to go to the cameras and clean out their nooks and crannies to get rid of the spiders that had crawled in there overnight. They did this for you, people!
Of course they all got paid for it, but still.
Here’s what the result of their labor looks like. This gameplay footage was captured at Gamescom by the UK arm of XBox.
Forza Horizon 3 will be out September 27 for XBox One and PC.
