Microsoft announced that they halted production of all Xbox One consoles – including the Xbox One X and digital Xbox One S – at the end of 2020, with only leftover stock being sold in stores and online in 2021, as the company focused their efforts on the newest generation of console, the Xbox Series X/S.
Chip availability and production continues to plague both Microsoft and Sony in the production of their consoles but Sony says they will manufacture a small amount of PS4 consoles in 2022 before moving on to focus their efforts on PS5 production.
Microsoft says they will, however, continue to produce their cheaper [$299] Xbox Series S console.
