McLaren Shadow Project Comes To Real Racing 3
What major esports competition now involves the mobile game Real Racing 3? It’s the McLaren Shadow Project. Who says you’ll get nowhere by fiddling around with phone games?
McLaren announced today that, starting immediately, anyone with the Real Racing 3 app can participate in one of three time trials. The first of these is going on now; the other two will be held in September and October. The player who finishes with the shortest time will get an invitation to the McLaren HQ semi-finals this December, and from there the sky’s the limit. The one who wins the entire tournament will win placement on McLaren’s esports team, access to the McLaren esports development program, and what McLaren refers to as “an enviable stash of goodies.”
“McLaren Shadow Project is the most diverse and dynamic racing esports competition on the planet,” says Ben Payne, director of esports at McLaren. “We are looking for talented racers from all countries and backgrounds, across all major platforms, and we are delighted to have partnered with Real Racing 3 on mobile. For McLaren fans this is also a fantastic opportunity to virtually test drive the new McLaren 600LT before it hits the road, as it is available to play in the game.”
