Look For A New Multiplayer Mode in F1 2016

on

Codemasters’ F1 2016 comes out in a little over a week. Today the publisher spoke with the website GamingBolt to reveal the game will come with a never-before-seen multiplayer mode.

Called the Multiplayer Championship, it allows a group of players to simultaneously participate in a full season championship — and up to 22 racers can enter! “We’re very happy to be announcing that F1 2016 will feature multiplayer championship, a brand new game mode that allows up to 22 players to compete against each other over the course of a season. This new mode allows you to race as team-mates or to battle it out as different teams, as well as offering great possibilities for league play.”

It sounds great, but there’s one problem that comes with it: playing a full season would take a while. Codemasters thought of that, though. “Championships are, of course, saveable, so you can fight it out over the course of many weeks,” they said.

F1 2016 should run smoothly on both Playstation 4 and XBox One, though the XBox will only achieve 900p resolution while the PS4 can process the full 1080p. Both of them run at 60FPS, though, and that’s the most important thing. F1 2016 will be released for those consoles, and the PC, on August 19.
