Latest Trailer For DiRT 5 Shows Off Weather System

on

DiRT 5 will have a dynamic weather system…but what does that mean? Does it just make for varied visuals, or does it actually affect gameplay?

According to the latest trailer from Codemasters, it not only affects gameplay, it can get in your face sometimes. The Morocco track shown off in the video is a prime example. Every now and then, a sandstorm will kick up, reducing visibility temporarily. “Being visually impaired and battling the elements means players must retain focused if they’re to taste victory,” says Robert Karp, development director for DiRT 5. “Nothing demonstrates our dynamic weather better than a Morocco sand-storm.”

DiRT 5 will take racing fans all over the world, from Brazil to the US to the aforementioned Morocco. This installment will boast the largest variety of vehicles of any DiRT to date, including rally, 4×4, sprint cars, sports cars, monster trucks with big wheels and many more. There are 13 classes of cars in all..if you ever get bored, mix it up.

Recently Codemasters announced the Playgrounds feature, an arena creation mode that lets players choose from three gameplay styles (high-speed Cate Crasher, stunt-focused Gymkhana and demolition derby Smash Attack) and share their original creations with others online.

DiRT 5 will be released on Playstation 4, XBox One and PC November 6, followed by next-gen versions for Playstation 5 and XBox Series X later in the year (we have not heard of a further delay for those versions).
