Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Mod is On The Way
Just Cause 2 had a popular multiplayer mod called JC2-MP. It became one of the essentials for anyone who owned the PC version of JC2 and was eventually added to Steam. The mod had the blessing of Avalanche Studios and many wondered if the team would be inspired to actually PUT multiplayer into Just Cause 3.
It didn’t happen, but Avalanche co-founder Christofer Sundberg explained that making the single-player takes up all their time: “We owe those guys (the modders) a lot. They have actually supported the game and helped it stay alive so many years after it was released. We don’t expect the fans to make the multiplayer for Just Cause 3, but at some point you have to make a choice on where your focus is. Our strength is the sandbox experience, and we want to deliver a great Just Cause 3 experience.”
If it must be done, it must be done: the team behind JC2-MP has now announced JC3-MP, a multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3. “We’re incredibly excited to show off the progress we’ve made these last few weeks,” they said today. “Moving forward you can expect frequent updates on our progress along with exciting new developments as they happen.”
There’s a trailer of the mod in action below, though it wasn’t accompanied by a release date. We’ll keep you posted when this mod nears completion.
