Here Comes The First Just Cause 3 Patch
Tired of stuttering framerates and loooong load times in Just Cause 3? Help will be arriving shortly. Avalanche Studios has announced their first patch for the game is almost ready. Clear 132.1 MB worth of space on your hard drive and get ready for Version 1.02, which will create the following according to the JC3 blog:
- Significantly improved loading times
- Optimizations to online stats
- General stability fixes
- Fixed an issue related to challenges, wherein vehicles sometimes disappeared when starting a challenge
- Fixed issues related to screen resizing and closing the game window before the game has fully started up [PC only]
Within the same blog Avalanche addressed a few problems that they say are NOT glitches: for one thing, Rico’s inability to sprint is intentional in this game. “Our designer’s intent was to encourage you to use Rico’s unique grapple to move around Medici far quicker than his legs would allow, as well as giving you the ability to traverse vertically.” They have a similar explanation for why Rico can’t crouch down: “Rico doesn’t hide. Getting him up in the air is our version of the cover mechanic. Rico is far more deadly in the skies, than pinned behind a container on the ground.” In other words, you can’t run or hide because those things are against Rico’s fearless personality……okay.
The Just Cause 3 patch arrives today in Europe on Playstation 4. It’ll expand to PS4s worldwide over the next two days, as well as XBox Ones around the same time. The PC patch will hit on Friday, December 18, but you’ll probably be out watching Star Wars and won’t be home for that one…
