The apocalyptic car-combat MOBA known as Heavy Metal Machines is getting its own esports tournament, dubbed the Metal League 6 tournament. Every Saturday from October 26 onward, players of the game can compete in qualifiers with no barrier to entry….there will be only six classificatory steps, the battle duration will be reduced from six to four hours, and there will be no entry fees.
Every Saturday from this point forward, tournaments will be held from 4 to 8 PM GMT. Those who pass the qualifying rounds (and only eight teams will be good enough to do so) will move on to the Playoffs, which take place on December 7.
It’s all leading to the semi-finals and grand finals, which will be broadcast live on Heavy Metal Machines’ dedicated YouTube and Twitch channels. After several best-of-three matches, the champion team will be awarded €2,000, the runner-ups will get €1,500, third place will receive €1,000, and fourth place will get €500.
“There’s never a dull moment in the world of Heavy Metal Machines and Metal League 6 will be no exception,” says Rodrigo Campos, CEO of developer Hoplon. “Going on previous tournaments, we’d expect around 50 teams will register to take part, all clamouring to stake a claim on the fantastic €5,000 prize pot!”
“The Metal League follows the Metal Pass’s season and also a rotation rule,” explained Eros Carvalho, Hoplon’s Head of Studio. “This season the matches will take place on the European server; this system works side by side with the teams feature that’s already in the game.”
To compete, you’ll have to be part of a team and you’ll need to register soon. Head to the Heavy Metal Machines Discord channel (www.discord.gg/heavymetalmachines) to get started.
