As we head into a new year, what’s the future look like for GRiP Combat Racing? What are the developers planning to add in 2019?
GRIP Combat Racing was released November 6 for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, XBox One and PC. It’s also part of XBox Game Pass. The game packs in 22 tracks, 15 cars and multiple weapons for those cars to use against each other as they battle for supremacy. It’s also one of the few recently-made games that contains a split-screen mode for old-school, everybody-in-the-room multiplayer races.
But soon it will have more. Publisher Wired Productions Ltd. and developer Caged Element Inc. plan to add additional content to the game over the next year, and today they revealed their early 2019 roadmap in a new image.
The graphic (which appears above) states that in January GRiP will receive a massive overhaul including improvements to AI behavior, in February new team modes and tracks will be added, and in March a new car pack will be made available. The remaining days of December will be devoted to minor updates and bug fixes.
“GRIP has already travelled lightyears from its roots in early access and we’re delighted to continue that journey,” said Chris Mallinson, Game Director at Caged Element. “From creating the ultimate Rollcage-inspired experience fans had been waiting for, we now move forward into a new phase, shaping the game for the future – we have so many exciting ideas we can’t wait to share with you all. This is just the start.”
More information on GRiP Combat Racing’s future plans (like the specific contents of the new modes and packs) will be revealed as we get close to their release dates.
