If you have PlayStation Plus, you probably checked it yesterday for your free PS Plus version of Driveclub. And didn’t find it.
And you might not for a while. According to a Facebook post from the game’s director Paul Rustchynsky, the free version has been temporarily delayed as Evolution Studios and Sony deal with technical problems with the full game.
The full Driveclub had a trouble launch yesterday, with connectivity problems keeping many gamers from playing online. The decision to hold back the PS Plus version and the My Driveclub App was made to reduce server load so these paying customers can play, Rustchynsky said.
“To our PS Plus fans, we’re sorry you’re having to wait longer to play, but we want to ensure that when you come on board, you get the best experience possible,” he added.
Rustchynsky said Evolution Studios would keep fans in the loop about when these issues are worked out.
“We fully appreciate how frustrating this is for everyone. We want you to get online with your club because racing, challenging and having fun together is what the game is all about. We know that racing with your friends online is what you’ve been waiting for and we are doing everything we can to deliver that experience to you as soon as possible,” he said.
