Forza Horizon 4 Gains Battle Royale Mode “Eliminator”

on

There’s really now a battle royale mode in Forza Horizon 4? Has the battle royale genre now invaded every nook and crevice of the video game universe?

The mode was added as part of a free update to the game, which went live today. It’s called “Eliminator,” and it works like this: in an open arena, you race head-to-head against other cars until either they’re eliminated or you are. As the number of cars dwindles, the area starts to shrink….we know this is sounding familiar, but there is a twist at the end. The surviving cars must then hold one final race against each other, and the winner is the one who crosses the finish line first. Otherwise, this would be car combat, not racing.

Each Eliminator round consists of 72 cars. And to keep things fair (at least at first), everyone starts using the same car. You’ll all be driving the 1965 Mini Cooper, but if you play well, you’ll get the chance to upgrade through one of two events: beating another car in a race, or finding one of the car drops scattered around the area.

Eliminator is the main attraction of today’s Forza Horizon 4 update, but the patch also added anew mini-campaign with unlockable rewards like the 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator, the 2008 Renault Mégane R26 R and the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Pre-Order Edition. Forza Horizon 4 is available now on XBox One.
