eSports WRC Grand Final Begins October 5

The eSports WRC Powered by Hyundai, the official esports tournament of WRC 8, has been progressing for the past eight months, and it’s about to hit its climax. The eSports WRC Grand Final is hitting very soon; where can you watch it?

This year’s competition has nine qualifiers up for the prize, including Jon Armstrong, the 2018 World Champion, and Lohan “Nexl” Blanc, who won the 2017 competition. On October 5 each of the finalists will compete in eight special qualification stages at the Llandudno WRC service park. This race will eliminate the number of contestants down to 4, after which point the ultimate race will he held at 6 PM (local time). Three special stages will determine the grand prize winner.

Here’s where to watch the Grand Final:

Don’t feel bad for the runner-up three. They’ll take home the following prizes:

  • Hyundai, a partner of the competition for 4 years, will award the winner a Hyundai i20 Coupe worth €20,000, and a co-driving experience with Dani Sordo in the Rally de España.
  • The second-place winner will receive an Anonimo Militare Chrono WRC watch worth €5,000.
  • The player on the third step of the podium will receive a Playseat® WRC Racing chair worth €400 and a complete set of Thrustmaster equipment (T-GT base + Rally Wheel add-on Sparco® r383 mod + T3PA-PRO ADD-ON + TSS HANDBRAKE Sparco Mod) worth €1,440.

We can’t predict who will win the eSports WRC this year, but we can tell you it will return in 2020. The first race in THAT competition will be held at the Rallye Monte Carlo.
