E3 2018: Forza Horizon 4 Announced
What’s Forza got on the Horizon? Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios revealed the impending existence of Forza Horizon 4 this afternoon at their E3 press conference. How does this one handle?
A spinoff series from Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon differentiates itself by having more of an arcade feel. This allows it to take chances and experiment in ways the mainline series probably couldn’t get away with. And Forza Horizon 4 utilizes a pretty bold new idea: no specific track areas. The world you drive in is one giant open world, with all the tracks connected.
So how do you know when a race has started? When a blimp appears in the sky and announces it. And this usually happens when enough racers are gathered on the same road….another cool thing about Forza Horizon 4 is that everyone playing is visible online at the same time. You can play competitive or co-op, or simply drive wherever you want — even off-road. In the demo at the conference, we saw somebody elect to careen through a farm populated with farmers and animals.
Forza Horizon 4 will run in 60FPS on XBox One X. It’ll be included as part of XBox Game Pass on the day of release — which will be October 2. Mark your calendars!
