Driveclub Surpasses Sales Of $2 Million

on

Sony’s Playstation 4 racing game Driveclub had a slow start, but sales have built up for them, and now Driveclub can boast that it’s made over 2 million dollars. Paul Rustchynsky, the game’s director, received a commemorative plaque in honor of the numbers, which he showcased on Twitter today.

There’s no cheating in this figure either: the $2 million is from copies of Driveclub SOLD, not just shipped.

While Sony can be proud about the sales, they’d best not boast about the reviews. Driveclub wasn’t rated as a terrible game by any means, but it wasn’t called a great or memorable one either. “It’s basic racing in basic packaging, beautiful and inert and full of attractive cars. It is not, however, an argument for a new generation of driving, given how it fails to exceed the standards of the old one,” said critic Kevin Val Ord at Gamespot.

If you want to try out Driveclub anyway, there’s an easy way to do it provided you’re a paying member of thePlaystation crowd: a free version of Driveclub was released for Playstation Plus members last month.
