The first few weeks as a Driveclub player could definitely be frustrating. Network glitches made it difficult or impossible to play the game online. It was like having a beautiful brand new car, but losing your license to take it out on the road.
Sony and Evolution Studios want you to know they’re sorry about that, and to prove it they’ve devised a peace offering in the way of free DLC. According to a Facebook post from the official Driveclub account, Driveclub is giving away November’s planned premium DLC. The post details what’s coming:
These premium DLC packs – The Ignition Expansion Pack and Photo-Finish Tour Pack along with two livery packs – will give you a total of five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items to play with online and offline.
The Season Pass will be extended to include four extra packs in July 2015 to ensure players who purchased the pass get everything that was promised. So on top of the free DLC in November, the Season Pass will still include 38 cars, 176 tour events and 80 unique liveries.
The post also provides some details about the game’s first update, which arrives tomorrow and includes a photo mode, three new tracks, and a few physics and options tweaks. The new tracks are: India – Yedepalli; Scotland – Wester Ross; and Chile – Los Pelambres.
And sorry, PlayStation Plus players. Still no update on when that free version you were promised is coming. It was delayed indefinitely while the developers grappled with the network problems at launch.
