Dirt Rally Coming To Consoles April 5

Now that Codemasters’ Dirt Rally is through its beta, the final version is available on Steam and it will be coming to consoles (Playstation 4 and XBox One) next spring.

Codemasters tried something risky last year when they put an unfinished version of Dirt Rally on Steam Early Access and left themselves at the mercy of gamers, taking the approach of refinement by fan feedback. Now they’ve refined the game to their own satisfaction and Dirt Rally has been moved from Steam Early Access to regular Steam, and declared finished.

“The launch on Steam early access has been a resounding success,” said Frank Sagnier, CEO of Codemasters. “We want to thank the community for their valuable feedback and support which has guided our development for the past eight months … We are now ready to launch the final version of the game on PC. Following this success on PC and a vocal demand from consumers, we are delighted to announce that Dirt Rally will be available on consoles on April 5, 2016.”

PC gamers will also get a new update soon, the Winter Wonderland update, which includes the Hyundai Rally and Volkswagen Polo Rally vehicles and “a new rally set in the snow and ice of the Varmland region of Sweden.”
