Dirt 3 Now On Steam With Free DLC

on

A year ago Codemasters, developer of Dirt 3, announced the game would be taken off Games For Windows Live and moved to Steam — but none of the original users would be affected. It took longer than they anticipated, but as of today the game has now fully moved to Steam.

If you owned the GFWL version of Dirt 3, and you have a Steam account, look in it right now for a surprise. Not only should you own the Steam version, but it should have been upgraded to the Complete Edition — meaning all the DLC available for the game is now free for you. (If you haven’t bought Dirt 3 yet, circumstances will be different, of course.)

There is only one downside, and that’s the fact that it was not possible to transfer saved data between the two versions. “Due to the differences with the two versions unfortunately your save files will not be compatible with each other,” Codemasters said. “We know it sucks and we are sorry but it was unavoidable.”

If you have any issues redeeming your Steam key for the game, or you experience a bug or glitch while playing, notify Codemasters immediately — while the game is now out, they are still hunting down and catching any remaining problems with it.
