Ubisoft’s ambitious racing MMORPG The Crew is almost here.
Ahead of tomorrow’s worldwide release the company has put out a new trailer showcasing the game.
It has also done some work to combat worries that the game, which depends so heavily on network features for its full experience that Ubisoft didn’t send it out early for reviews, will be plagued by the same problems that made Driveclub’s launch such a disaster.
The Crew’s lead designer, Serkan Hassan, said recently that the game went through several beta tests to make sure the online backbone was solid before launch.
“For The Crew, we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time. The launch of any online game these days has potential issues, but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability,” Hassan said.
Will his confident statements hold true? We’ll find out tomorrow as The Crew launches on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4 and Windows.
