Codemasters’ Dirt Rally, until now a PC exclusive, may be headed to consoles if what was just revealed in Taiwan is any indication. The country’s video game ratings board has issued out their rating for Dirt Rally and on the list of platforms is the Playstation 4 and XBox One, in addition to the PC.
Dirty Rally was first released in beta form on Steam last April, on the same day it was announced. As they explained, their reason for going so public with their development process was because “we want to make sure we get this right. You’ve been asking us for a game that is pure rally with none of the fluff, one that has more stages, longer stages and repairs in between stages. You’ve told us how you want your own team, to be able to set the car up how you want and to feel like you own the car you’re driving. We want to deliver that game.”
If Codemasters feels ready to release Dirt Rally on consoles (where beta releases don’t usually happen), it must mean the game is close to completion in their eyes. Of course, the actual announcement for the PS4 and XBox One versions hasn’t happened yet. We’ll let you know when it does.
