Bugbear’s Wreckfest Coming To Consoles

on

Racing game studio Bugbear Entertainment has been behind many titles, from the FlatOut racing series to Ridge Racer Unbounded. Now their latest creation is a tool for destruction.

Wreckfest is a racer where the goal isn’t just to win, it’s to demolish your enemies. And Bughear announced today it’s coming to consoles. Janne Alanenpää, studio director, said “Thanks to the raw power of both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 we will be able to unleash our undistilled vision of a next-generation demolition racing game on consoles as well and expand our audience considerably.”

They also mention something about the game being available in “early access” first, which is interesting considering we’re talking about consoles. It’s not like beta testing doesn’t happen on them these days, but there’s a roadblock that prevents it from happening often. The Xbox One has a Game Preview program that lets players purchase games in development, but Sony doesn’t have an equivalent, and it’s prevented other games from appearing on the PS4.

Wreckfest is now available for preorder through Bugbear’s website. If you want to play Wreckfest sooner rather than later, the game is already live on PC in Steam Early Access.
