New GRID Video Shows Off Havana Street Circuit
After an absence of five years, GRID is coming back in 2019 with a self-titled sequel. And today, Game Director Chris Smith and Community Manager Chris Groves of Codemasters showed off the new Havana Street Circuit in an impressive video.
You’ll be racing none other than legendary driver Fernando Alonso on this track — his AI has been programmed into the game, and yes, they did have access to his brain: he’s a consultant on the project. It’s doubtful they actually scanned his brain waves into the code, however.
Through this video you’ll watch the Chrises of Codemasters show off various available circuits and the Teammates, Rivals and Nemesis systems, as well as have a showdown with Alonso.
You know by now you’ll get something if you pre-order the game, so what is it? It’s the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car, which will also be available to anyone who buys the Day One Edition or Ultimate Edition. All first printings will be the Day One Edition, so pre-ordering isn’t really an urgency.
“We set out to create an exhilarating racing experience which is like no other and the new trailer gives our fans a glimpse of what to expect,” says Chris Smith. “Players will encounter challenging and combative racing from all the AI drivers and this creates a living, breathing world where anything is possible and finishing positions must be earned. Whether it’s competing in the middle of the pack or going wheel-to-wheel for victory, there are no easy wins and our players will both enjoy and marvel at our most competitive GRID to date.”
The new GRID will be out October 11 for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
