Horizon Chase Turbo Gets Playground Mode On Playstation 4
Jealous of XBox and Switch owners who received extra content when their versions of Horizon Chase Turbo were released? There’s no longer a need for that. Now everyone’s even as developer Aquiris adds Playground Mode and other improvements to the Playstation 4 version of the game. What are they about?
Playground is a rotative competition that present 5 new races each time. They are time-limited tracks that will always bring something special to the table: Time Attack races with no opponents, changes in weather and time of day, mirrored races, infinite nitros, restrictions on which cars competitors can use. Expect to see sandstorms in Iceland, volcanoes in California and new rules! You never know what the next season will feature.
To make up for the wait, Aquiris has created some new car skins exclusive to the PS4 version of Horizon Chase Turbo. They’re also discounting the game by 25% from now until February 5, and if you have a PS Plus subscription that discount climbs to 35%!
Horizon Chase Turbo utilizes a deliciously retro aesthetic, rendering the flat 2D look of 16-bit races in full 3D. Long roads with bright grassy sides tapered off by candy-colored bumpers are the rule of the day here. There are campaign, tournament and endurance modes, plenty of things to unlock, chiptune-styled music and, to make things extra-retro, a split-screen multiplayer mode.
