GTA Online’s Festive Surprise Will Be Festive a Little Longer
You’ve probably noticed, but a few Grinchy hackers tried to ruin Christmas, bringing down PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on some of the biggest gaming days of the year.
Rockstar Games is going to gather in a circle and sing even if there is not tree, however. They’ve extended the holiday-themed GTA Online event Festive Surprise past its original Jan. 5 end date to give players more time to enjoy the snowball fights, presents and other murderous holiday surprises packed into the event. Rockstar hasn’t said exactly how long it will be extended, so go ahead and get your ho-ho-homicide on while you can.
Rockstar also just announced on Twitter that the inventory gifts it gave out on Christmas day will also be available on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day for those that might have missed them.
The Festive Surprise update offers new holiday-themed content for the game, including: snow days; stockings stuffed with a homing missile launcher and proximity mines;free clothing including ugly Christmas sweaters and some really weird holiday masks; four new vehicles including the Hot Rod Christmas Ratloader, the sturdy Slam Van, and the fast and flashy Massacro and Jester sports cars with all new Race liveries; special crate drops, gifts on Christmas day and New Year’s Eve fireworks.
